Dr. Jim McCartney is a Saint Louis native. He grew up in Warson Woods and attended Saint Louis University High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at Kansas University and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007. He has worked in shelter and emergency medicine, but the majority of his career has been spent as a general practitioner. He has a strong interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, and management of chronic diseases. He has a son, Will, and a black lab named Leon. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, listening to music, and spending time outdoors and on the water.
